Construction of the GvN-Station Antarctica and, upon completion of same, member of the first over wintering team. In this role responsible for all electronic matters in the station and scientific environment. From here contacts and cooperation with Antarctic Research Stations of the various nations. Installation of Amateur Radio Networks with those stations who were active in the field of radio amateur business. Worldwide contacts by means of this technology.
Later on Chief Radio Operator of the German Research Icebreaker ”POLARSTERN”. Research and Replenishment voyages to the Arctic and Antarctic. Active as /mm Radio Amateur whenever possible.
