I’m Gerard F2JD born June 5Th 1947 in Paris.
Get my first F2JD license in 1967 after several years SWL (1963).
Telecom engeneer in 1969 I moved to Kerguelen Island in Geophysics were I was FB8XX during one year and half.
Then TAAF send me with my amateur radio equipment (TR4 Drake…) to Heard Island VK0HM for 2 months.
I continue to work in geophysics research (CNRS) for 4 years (TT8-VE8-ZD8).
I spend one year in 1973 in Niger for telecom’s (was 5u7/F2JD ) for civil aviation.
Then I start in projects for Microwaves links with Alcatel from 1974 to … 2002.
I had chance to stay and operate in ham’s bands generally from few months to years as a field engineer then project manager.

I retired in 2002 and had the chance to be operator of various DX expeditions:
On our way to Peterone Island in 2006 3Y0X after a first attend in Argentina and Chile in 2005 we were.
Also CE0Z -LU8-LU9-XR9A.
With F6KOP team to IS0R – XT2C – XT2JD – TJ9PF – J5C - TM7CC – 5X8C.
With MDXC team to V84MDC – XU7MDC- 9U4M.
With N6OX / N7CQQ and French CDXC team to Clipperton TX5C.
With UK team 5Stars CDXC to T32C.
With EA5RM team recently HD8R.
Generally in HR5/F2JD for 3 to 4 month’s every year were I met my wife Maria 34 years ago.
73 and don’t forget that my manager Jean-Michel F6AJA (LNDX) send for me from more than 34 years a lot of papers QSL’s Direct or via Buro.
